Safety and Health: At Bear's Den Lodge, not only do we look out for your health and safety but that of the natural environment as well. Below are just some of the things we do to protect your health/safety and that of the environment.

• Water: The water at Bear's Den Lodge is public water tested by the EPA (no strange odors or discoloration of fixtures).
• Drinking Water: For your health you have access to filtered drinking water by a Kinetico brand reverse osmosis system. Even the ice cubes from the refrigerator are used from purified water
• Lighting: With large windows and many windows at Bear's Den Lodge you have natural light much of the day. This is better for your health and the environment.
• Cleaning: Only all-natural environmentally safe cleaning products are used to clean Bear's Den Lodge. Not only is this safer for the cleaning
  staff and our guests, but also for the vegetation and wildlife (effluent from septic is purer and cleaner). Most of the products we use for cleaning are from Seventh Generation.
• Organic Coffee and Tea provided.
• Seventh Generation Toilet paper provided. Environmentally Sensitive (ESA) soaps provided.
• Recycling: We require recycling and provide recycling bins and educational information. By recycling we reduce the amount of waste buried
  in a landfill, reduce the amount of new materials used and reduce pollution.
• Fire Safety:
  • Two fire extinguishers are provided. One on the main level by the stove and one on the upper (bedroom) level.
  • Hardwired (battery back up) smoke alarms are in each bedroom and main level.
  • One smoke and fire alarm is hardwired and immediately calls the local fire department should smoke or fire be detected.
  • Carbon Monoxide: A high grade Nighthawk brand carbon monoxide detector is installed on the main level by the stove in the kitchen.
  • 911-For emergencies our area has 911 available. In the case of an emergency, we have bright green signage with white reflective lettering (at the driveway/road and for each drive). This makes it very easy for Emergency help to locate this property should an emergency arise.
